Fire crews extinguish overnight car fire in Island Heights

A 52-year-old man is fighting for his life after falling from the roof of a two-story residence in Linden on Monday morning.

Police said the fall happened at about 9:35 a.m. in the 1200 block of Bergen Avenue.

The man was flown by medevac helicopter to University Hospital in Newark, where he remains in critical condition.
