Cranford police responded to a home Wednesday for reports of an intruder.

The homeowner says that a small hawk had flown in through a bathroom window and then refused to leave.

When officers arrived, they found the bird relaxing in the hot tub in the bathroom.

Police say that Patrolman Bell was able to convince the hawk to leave the home and go back to its home in a nearby tree.

Cranford police say it was the strangest call of the day.
