The Harvey Cedars Police Department responded to a call Tuesday morning for a seal found on Long Beach Boulevard.

Police officers and DPW workers blocked traffic and helped the seal move to Middlesex Avenue, where she fell asleep, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center wrote in a Facebook post.

Responders from the MMSC rescued the Grey seal and took her to the organization's hospital for treatment.

The seal was "in thin overall condition" but displayed no injuries, the MMSC said.
