A coalition of environmental and faith-based groups is trying to drum up support for offshore wind projects in New Jersey, particularly in coastal towns where opposition to the projects has been loud.
Led by the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, the New Jersey Wind Works campaign acknowledges it receives financial support from the offshore wind energy industry, but says it is an independent group advocating for projects to help reduce the effects of climate change.
One community in which it will work is Ocean City, where opposition to offshore wind projects has been vocal.
