A state grand jury has voted not to file criminal charges against a Long Branch police officer involved in a deadly crash.
Evidence used in court included police body camera and dashboard video, witness interviews and autopsy results for the death of Tracee Blount in August 2023.
The investigation revealed that Officer Lucas Brito was responding to an armed break-in when he got into a crash with a car leaving the scene.
Altonia Williams was the driver and Blount was the passenger. She died at the hospital.
Williams was indicted for his alleged role in the break-in and crash.
