A grand jury has formally charged a man accused of being part of what police call a statewide auto theft ring.

Israel Ortiz, 23, of Sewell faces up to 20 years in prison.

Ortiz and three other men are charged in connection with large-scale car thefts and a home burglary ring across multiple South Jersey towns.

They're accused of stealing high-end cars, motorcycles, and breaking into homes to take credit cards.
