There is a concern at Rutgers University about images spray-painted on several places around the New Brunswick campus this week.

The image depicts Leila Khaled holding a machine gun. Khaled hijacked two planes in 1969 and 1970 as part of the group the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which is a United States-designated terrorist group. She has also justified the Oct. 7 Hamas attack.

"Obviously, very troubling. Leila Khaled is a convicted terrorist. And to lift her up as somebody to idolize is meant to terrorize people,” says Scott Richman, head of the New York/New Jersey Anti-Defamation League.

Rutgers University is part of a federal probe into the rise of antisemitism on college campuses.
