Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration sent a team of specialists to address ongoing issues at the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home.
It's been more than two years since COVID killed dozens of residents there, but a new federal report finds ongoing issues with staffing and safety at the home.
The team of specialists were sent to the veterans home earlier this week after a scathing federal inspection report.
The governor says it is his duty to protect the health and well-being of veterans in state care.
Lawmakers in Trenton are discussing a complete reorganization of the way the state runs veteran care.
This comes as Murphy plans to announce the start of his long-promised review of the state's response to COVID as soon as Friday.
The members of the mission critical team already at Menlo Park include a nurse consultant and administrator. They'll be joined by an infection control prevention specialist on Nov. 28.
