Gov. Murphy orders all public, private, and parochial schools closed effective Wednesday

Gov. Phil Murphy has announced on his Twitter the closure of all schools in New Jersey – public, private, parochial, from pre-K through grade 12, and all colleges and universities, effective Wednesday, March 18.

Gov. Phil Murphy has announced the closure of all schools in New Jersey – public, private, parochial, from pre-K through grade 12, and all colleges and universities, effective Wednesday, March 18.

The closure is until such time as deemed by health officials to be safe for classes to resume.
Murphy said earlier that bars, restaurants and casinos will shutter at 8 p.m. Monday in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Bars and restaurants can remain open for takeout or delivery only.
The governor also said that gatherings of 50 or more people would be prohibited.
