Gov. Phil Murphy says the 50% capacity limit for New Jersey Transit will be lifted Wednesday as of 8 p.m. Trains and buses can start running at full capacity.
The governor spoke Monday during a news conference. He says the transit agency was beginning to see capacity reach that level, and wanted to be sure people who needed public transit to get to work could use it.

Face masks are required on public transit and at rail stations to slow the spread of COVID-19.
People who have been riding recently have had no problem social distancing, but that will soon change, and they say it'll be strange to once again share space.
On Twitter, Danielle writes, “As someone who commuted throughout all of this, I can tell you no one ever enforced the 50% capacity or the masks. All they did was cut amount of trains running which made trains even more crowded.
Jason also wrote on Twitter, “I just wish the masks were fully enforced. I've been on buses and trains where people were not wearing them.”
NJ Transit has already begun the process of installing plexiglass near drivers to keep them safe.
AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
