Gov. Phil Murphy on Wednesday highlighted some of the progress New Jersey has made over the past year when it comes to protecting and expanding reproductive rights and access to health care in the state.
“New Jersey is a state that continues to stand for the fundamental right to make one’s own reproductive choices,” Murphy wrote in a statement. “Understanding that rights without access mean nothing, my Administration is also working with our partners to remove barriers to the family planning tools individuals need to make these crucial and deeply personal decisions.”
Along with increased funding, multiple rule proposals are in the works to make it easier for residents and visitors to access services and resources. Once finalized, one of those proposals will allow pharmacists to provide birth control without a prescription.
