Gov. Phil Murphy is sending 50 state troopers to help with the unrest in Washington, D.C.
Gov. Murphy tweeted, “At the request of DC officials, I am deploying the New Jersey State Police to the District of Columbia to facilitate the peaceful transition of power and protect our Democracy. We are prepared to deploy the New Jersey National Guard upon request.”
The New Jersey troopers will join the National Guard in D.C., plus 200 from Virginia and 500 from Maryland among others.
