Gov. Phil Murphy has announced a $7
million investment to help law enforcement put an end to the gun violence.
Murphy announced the
investment outside the Paterson Police Department. Murphy says
the money will help local police departments trace guns by funding state-of-the-art
spotter technology and license plate readers.
Another $8 million will go toward
grassroots and community groups that resolve arguments.
The news comes one week after 18-year-old Robert Cuadra was struck by a stray
bullet in Paterson and killed while police say he was getting groceries for his
grandmother.
