A 50-year-old New Rochelle attorney has tested positive for the coronavirus, Gov. Andrew Cuomo confirmed.
The patient first went to New York-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville and was then transferred to a Manhattan hospital.
According to Cuomo, the man apparently had an underlying respiratory illness and no known travel history to China or other countries on the virus watch list.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says the man is being treated at a New York City hospital.
This is the second case of coronavirus reported in New York state. The governor said more cases are expected as the outbreak spreads and testing ramps up.
