Gov. Andrew Cuomo held his daily news briefing Sunday as New York grapples with the coronavirus pandemic and unrest over the death of George Floyd.
BRIEFING NOTES:
-Cuomo says there's good news in the numbers on coronavirus, with new cases, hospitalizations all down. Daily death toll falls to 56.
-Cuomo says it was an "ugly night across the state and across the nation." He references what he says is disturbing video from the protests, noting that he's asked the state attorney general to review the events and procedures followed, and that includes last night's actions.
-He says additional protests are planned, with state police being sent to upstate NY locations for assistance.
-"People are outraged," Cuomo says, saying that he understands and is also outraged.
-Cuomo urges peaceful protests and says the movement is not served by any violence.
