An 8-year-old girl from Passaic County turned a good deed for her community into a hurricane relief effort.
Dyanah Morales sold lemonade in her driveway to raise money for school supplies.
The Clifton girl was able to raise $250 selling the lemonade. She says that she decided that students affected by Hurricane Harvey needed the help and money more than she did.
“A lot of people lost their school supplies…and all the schools got shut down,” she says. “I just wanted to give back to them.”
Dyanah partnered with her school to send those supplies to Houston. She says that she plans on hosting another lemonade stand during Thanksgiving – this time to send food to hurricane victims.
