Gas prices continue to rise across New Jersey and the nation as the price of a barrel of oil tops out at $85.
This is a first for intraday trading since 2014. It also marks a 13% jump in oil prices in the month of October.
The national average for a gallon of gasoline now stands at $3.38. New Jersey’s state average is 6 cents higher at $3.44 per gallon.
But there is some hope in New Jersey as some stations are still selling fuel at below $3 per gallon.
A Sunoco station in Salem is selling gas for $2.59 per gallon. A Delta in East Orange is selling for $2.99 per gallon. This is according to a list compiled by GasBuddy.
