Friends, family and colleagues gather for funeral of slain NYPD Officer Adeed Fayaz

Friends, family and colleagues gathered Thursday for the funeral of late NYPD Officer Adeed Fayaz.
Funeral services took place at the Al Rayaan Muslim Funeral Services in Brooklyn. Fayaz’s brothers and sisters in blue lined the streets to say their final goodbyes to the five-year NYPD veteran.
A motorcade along Coney Island Avenue was held as loved ones and NYPD officers said their final goodbyes to the 26-year-old officer. NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell spoke at Fayaz's funeral to honor his life.
"This was a reprehensible taking of a police officer, the violent robbery of a father from his family," said Sewell. "This city needs good fathers. His sons needed theirs."
Fayaz was fatally shot in the head on Saturday night after attempting to purchase a car off of someone through Facebook Marketplace. Randy Jones, 38, is currently in police custody and faces charges of murder and attempted robbery.
Fayaz is survived by his two children and wife. He was a beloved member of the Pakistani community.
Services for the late officer started at 10 a.m. The funeral started at 1:15 p.m. and ended just before 3 p.m.
