The funeral for a fallen Lakewood police officer drew hundreds of policemen and women from around the tri-state area Friday.
Mourners paid their final respects to 36-year-old Officer William Preslar. The six-year veteran was killed in a car crash Monday while en route to assist another officer. Police officials say Preslar was responding to the back up call when he swerved to avoid a deer and crashed into a tree.
Preslar is survived by his wife and two daughters, ages 4 and 6. A trust fund has been set up for Preslar?s children. Grief counselors will also continue to be available for his fellow Lakewood officers.
