State leaders have announced plans for six mega-vaccination sites across the state.
The sites will be located at the Atlantic City Convention Center, the racetrack at the Meadowlands, the Moorsetown Mall, Rowan College of South Jersey, the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, and the Rockaway Townsquare Mall in Morris County.
The sites will first vaccinate front-line health care workers, and continue in a phased approach with certain essential workers and those 65 and older with high-risk medical conditions, followed by the general population depending on the supply of the vaccine in New Jersey.
"This is an extremely unique opportunity for Morris County to bring the vaccine to thousands of people daily and be an integral part of a national endeavor that we pray for one day will return normalcy to lives of all Americans,” says Jeff Paul, director of the Morris County OEM.
State mass vaccination centers are expected to open in early January, administering as many as 2,400 vaccines a day.
