A Penn State fraternity member will be sentenced in connection to the death of a pledge from New Jersey.
Ryan Burke, 21, is the first member of the now-closed Beta Theta Pi fraternity to plead guilty in the case.
The Scranton resident is among more than 20 members of the fraternity facing criminal charges over the Feb. 2017 death of Tim Piazza of Lebanon.
Piazza died after a night of heavy drinking and a series of falls that left him with a fractured skull and severe abdominal injuries.
Burke faces up to 90 days in jail.
The other members of the fraternity await trial in February.
