Today marks a major milestone for the borough of Franklin Lakes – its 100th anniversary.

In 1922, Franklin Lakes became a borough and before that it was a township. 

"History is important to us so we have a lot of great history in town and we're celebrating that this coming year with various things and activities going on. So the history kind of defines us, but as our slogan says, we have pride in our past but a lot of faith and excitement about the future," says Franklin Lakes Mayor Frank Bivona. 

The borough is holding several events this year to celebrate.
