A private fundraiser brought former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump to the Jersey Shore Sunday night.
Trump’s motorcade was greeted by supporters in Monmouth County.
There was a heavy police presence and road closures along shore communities.
This was not Trump’s first campaign event in New Jersey this year. He held a rally in Wildwood back in May.
After Trump’s attempted assassination earlier this month, Gov. Phil Murphy visited him at his Bedminster residence. He detailed their conversation exclusively on News 12’s July edition of “Ask Gov. Murphy.”
“It was mostly about his health, the incident, the aftermath, what it was like to be going to the hospital," Murphy said. "He and I aren’t going to agree on a whole host of things. He loves Jersey in his own special way...Anybody who’s down like that, particularly when you see your life pass before you, you’re appreciative for anyone to come out and spend some time with you.”
Monmouth County is now a place of dueling political fundraisers in the last few weeks. President Joe Biden visited Murphy’s home in late June.
