Former Gov. Christie addresses US economy in first GOP 2024 presidential debate

Former President Donald Trump did not participate in the debate.

Former Gov. Chris Christie was among the candidates participating in the first Republican presidential debate.
Christie spoke about how he would tackle the United States economy if he were elected president.
"We cannot sit by any longer and allow the kind of spending that's going on in Washington, because every dollar they spend, is a dollar that these people are not allowed to spend on their children and their grandchildren. It's robbing our country and it's wrong,” Christie said.
Former President Donald Trump did not participate in the debate.
Trump is at his Bedminster golf club. He is expected to surrender to authorities in Georgia on Thursday in connection to the 2020 election interference case.
