Jackson Township is moving ahead with a plan to ban short term rentals following a massive party Sunday night that included 700 people.

The five-member town council unanimously voted to approve the first reading of an ordinance banning rentals of less than 30 days.
The ordinance would also eliminate pool rentals.
Clusters of coronavirus cases have appeared recently after a series of large gatherings.
There's a second reading of the ordinance at the next council meeting Aug. 11.
