(09/08/06) FLORHAM PARK ? Florham Park officials expect to receive a major economic boost when the New York Jets corporate and training complex is completed in the summer of 2008.
Team President Jay Cross Friday revealed detailed plans for the team?s new Morris County training complex. Jets officials view the 120,000 sqare-foot facility as a major upgrade from their current home at Hofstra University on Long Island. The new $50 million campus is twice as big and includes four football fields, weight rooms, dining rooms, classrooms and the work of a world-class architect. The same man who designed ground zero?s Freedom Tower also designed the new facility.
Practices attract about 3,000 fans daily throughout the 30-day training camp, which will potentially increase commerce in Florham Park and greater Morris County. The New York Jets will continue to practice at Hofstra University before they complete their move to New Jersey. The Florham Park facility is expected to open for the summer 2008 training camp.
