A Marine recruiter accused of trying to lure children in Roselle did not make his first appearance before a judge.
Union County court officials say that 27-year-old Wade Phillips, of Linden, waived his first court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, but did not provide any details as to why.
Phillips is accused to trying to lure three young children in Roselle earlier this month. He was allegedly touching himself inappropriately at the time as well. Police say he was driving a government vehicle connected to his work as a Marine recruiter in Elizabeth.
Police are investigating whether Phillips is involved in at least five other attempted luring incidents that also took place in Union County.
