Firefighters battled the blaze in Union County overnight.

Crews worked in bitter cold temperatures while putting out the fire on S. Second Street in Plainfield.

The fire was under control by 5:00 a.m. but not before forcing those inside out of the building.

No injuries were reported, including among firefighters.

Red Cross is assisting two families who were displaced.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
