? Firefighters had to battle flames and the bitter cold after a four-alarm fire broke out late Friday morning in Hawthorne at a two-story home on Horton Avenue.
The fire broke out around 10 a.m. Flames spread quickly as fire consumed the roof and destroyed the home.
Firefighters say a defensive fire method had to be used to fight the flames because they were unable to stay inside the home.
Eight people were burned out of the two apartments at the home. Officials say the tenants lost all possessions in the apartments. Luckily, two dogs made it out safely of the home.
