A fire damaged parts of Linden City Hall on Friday morning.

Fire officials say that the fire started in a boiler room and that only a few employees were inside at the time.

“The mechanical room is pretty much in disarray. It’s going to take some doing to straighten out,” says Mayor Derek Armstead. “There is some water damage and smoke damage in the building. I’m certain we will have crews come in to remediate the damage.

No injuries were reported.

Armstead says that the building should be back open by Monday.
