Utility crews are working to fully-restore power statewide this morning after weather conditions led to massive outages.
The outages began early Friday morning.
Some passengers at Newark Airport also experienced delays due to power issues including one caused by a fire in Terminal C.
The Port Authority PBA says a transformer caught fire inside a manhole underneath the terminal around 11:15 a.m.
The fire killed power in the gate area of Terminal C and put a short hold on security checks and prompted officials to evacuate travelers.
Crews restored power around 1:30 p.m.
United Airlines says during the incident there were fewer than 10 flight delays that lasted around 20 minutes.
Overall weather led to more than 350 delays and 130 cancellations at Newark Airport Friday.
