With the air quality so poor due to the Canadian wildfires, it might be time to invest in beets.
Beets and beet juice have been proven to improve lung function.
The staff at Fruit Republique Juicery in Union Township think that they have the right concoction. It is called “Don’t Miss a Beet. It contains cucumbers, carrots, apples, spinach and beets.
“Don’t Miss a Beet has health benefits directly related to your blood in your lungs. It does give you a lot of oxygen to your blood and bloodstream,” says staff member Silvio Valladares. “It helps you nitrate a lot more blood flow directly to your lungs so you can have the strength you need to breathe a lot better and create the oxygen we need for your body through this type of weather.”
Valladares says he has noticed more people coming in to buy beet juice because of the wildfire smoke.
