Crews spend most of Monday morning cleaning up around MetLife Stadium after a hip-hop concert, delayed by bad weather, broke into chaos Sunday night.
The Hot 97 Summer Jam concert was delayed until around 10 p.m. Sunday due to severe thunderstorms around East Rutherford. Organizers canceled an outdoor pre-show that was scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
While fans gathered in the parking lot, a man was slashed on the back of the head and taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment. Once the show got underway, a fight broke out in the floor seats and folding chairs went flying.
The show was cut short around 1 a.m. before headlining rapper Future took to the stage. Organizers say that they cut the show short because it was so late and the last trains leaving MetLife Stadium would be departing soon.
In all, 35 people were arrested for a variety of crimes and several people sustained minor injuries, according to the New Jersey State police. Officials say that this is down from last year when 61 people were arrested and 10 state troopers were injured during a clash outside Summer Jam.
