Some flood victims of Little Falls are unimpressed with a recent offer of help.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced a buyout plan for the town on Monday. The plan is for the town to acquire four properties on Roselle and Louis streets, using a $1.5 million grant. Once the properties are acquired, the township will work on returning the ruined homes to their natural state.
Mike Corbosiero, a Little Falls resident, says the buyout plan is a waste of money, stating that people don?t want to move, they want the problems fixed.
"Take that same money and put it towards the dam we have by Little Falls that's causing our floods and put gates there,? Corbosiero said.
It?s now up to state and local officials to make the homeowners an offer.
