Revelers gathered along Washington Avenue in Sea Girt on Sunday morning to kick off the Motors on Main car show.
The show featured over 150 luxury vehicles such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches.
As crowds from different communities gathered to enjoy the event, organizer Michael Dalessandro said it is exactly what he envisioned.
After renovating Evolution Auto Spa two years ago, Dalessandro wanted an event that would not only benefit his business, but help rebuild the community in the aftermath of the pandemic.
Local vendors from across the state were in attendance, along with organizations seeking to raise money for charity. Kerri Walsifer, of Nick’s Lemonade Stand, says they are giving their proceeds to Sea Grit Elementary and the National Down Syndrome Society.
“It shows our community how all of our kids should be included. I think Sea Girt is a unique and special community,” she said.
Dalessandro says the Motors on Main has become bigger with each passing year. Last year’s event saw over 1,000 guests. He believes that attendance most likely doubled on Sunday.
“We decided to keep it going as an annual thing because it brings exposure to all the businesses here on Washington Boulevard, and get everyone out for a beautiful day,” he said. “This is just the perfect way before Memorial Day to kick off summer.”
