The FCC has introduced the Affordable Connectivity Program, aiming to provide discounted internet access to eligible households across the nation.
Under this initiative, qualifying families can access a discount of up to $30 per month toward broadband services and up to $100 off a one-time purchase of computers, laptops, or tablets through participating broadband providers.
Responding to the amplified need for home internet access highlighted by the pandemic, the program targets households meeting specific criteria.
Eligibility extends to families participating in the free and reduced-price school breakfast and lunch programs, those with incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, recipients of federal Pell Grants, and individuals receiving SNAP, Medicaid, or Section 8 housing benefits.
Households meeting these criteria are encouraged to enroll online to avail themselves of these benefits. For more information, click here.
