Iconic pieces from Gillian's Wonderland Pier find new life at Burlington antiques shop

Some big pieces of Jersey Shore history are up for sale. Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City closed in 2024, but one Burlington shop bought, saved and is now selling some of the amusement park's most iconic items.
Obnoxious Antiques, a warehouse packed with strange and unusual pieces of history, big and small, acquired dozens of items from Wonderland Pier after the park shut down.
"One of our associates called us, said it was going out of business. He called down there, kind of put it together. My partner John started to put the deal together and we bought everything pretty much," said Joe Csik, of Obnoxious Antiques.
The shop ended up with somewhere between 75 and 100 pieces from the amusement park, ranging from lights, amusement décor and clowns to crabs and haunted house decorations.

Among the most recognizable pieces to come out of the deal is the towering skull that once sat atop Wonderland Pier's haunted house.
"Great piece, well made, a lot of interested parties. It's just the size of it. And the hands that come with it are pretty outrageous," Csik said.
Csik said the shop has sold pieces to buyers across the country, but they have made an effort to keep many of them close to home.
"That was our goal. We were trying to get to people that actually could appreciate it and grew up with it. So, some went to Philadelphia, a lot went back to Ocean City. There's a small museum down there we sold a lot to and tried to help build them up," he said.
About 12 of the larger pieces remain, according to Csik. The pieces are for sale on the Obnoxious Antiques website.
