A father and daughter who are both cancer survivors made a generous donation Monday all in the hope of making sure no other child has to fight the illness.
Rebecca Salmins was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 6 years old. Her father also had cancer. The pair opened an online bracelet and accessories shop and donated a portion of the proceeds to the Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center.
“They raised $7,000 for childhood cancer research for Tackle Kids Cancer,” says mother Sherry Salmins.
Rebecca was diagnosed with the illness in 2014 and underwent treatment at the hospital. She was declared cancer-free in November 2016.
