A small community in Monmouth County is without a municipal government following tensions with the borough?s mayor.
All six of Farmingdale's Borough Council members resigned, saying Mayor John Morgan is too difficult to work with. The only person currently left to run municipal matters is the deputy borough clerk.
Morgan, known as Mayor Jay, admits there was tension between him and the council members, but doesn't agree with the council's recent actions.
"Obviously, they didn't have the town's best interest at heart, because there were other ways of doing this without resigning and having us have to send it to the governor's office," he said.
The governor's office says a state statute will allow Gov. Chris Christie to make appointments to the council within 30 days, but it's still under review.
