Police issued a warning for eager fans looking to see their favorite music artists to be on the lookout for Facebook accounts pretending to sell heavily discounted concert tickets.
The Fanwood Police Department says it was made aware of possible scam posts on local Facebook groups for tickets to popular concerts, such as Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen. They say once you electronically pay for the tickets via Venmo or another mobile payment service, the scammers take the money and disappear by deleting their accounts.
Authorities say scammers may also hack accounts so it may seem that a person you know is selling the tickets.
Police are warning people to do their research before buying tickets and remember if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
