No flames from the Jones Road Wildfire have destroyed any homes.
But Susan and Ray Freer's home in a community off of Route 9 caught on fire because of something else.
The family had been using their generator since Tuesday night, when power was intentionally cut to thousands of homes to protect firefighters as they battled to the Jones Road Wildfire.
"They say it started in the office, under her desk," said Ray Freer. "They know it's electrical but there was no power on, other than my generator"
Investigators are determining the cause of the house fire.
In the meantime, they find comfort at the Lacey Diner where someone bought their breakfast and people gave donations.
The owner Michelle Martinez is helping out the Lacey Police Department today.
"First responders run to the danger, just to give a hot sandwich or whatever we can give," said Martinez.
And nearby Forked River Diner wants to thank all emergency responders.
"Thank you so much, I have a lot of friends and family both involved in firefighting services and it means to world to us that they would sacrifice their time and families to go save ours," said Nancy Moody, owner of Forked River Diner.
