As many as 10 families are out of their homes after Friday?s five-alarm fire at a West New York factory.
Four neighboring homes fell victim to the flames, leaving the families to make other living arrangements. Some returned to their homes Saturday to gather important belongings as firefighters continued to put out hotspots at the clothing factory.
Arson investigators will be sent in to try to determine a cause.
"There is a lot of damage inside the building,? says fire chief Brian McEldowney. ?We are going to go very carefully and slowly, work our way into the building with investigators to try to determine a cause."
Fire investigators say it could take a couple of days to figure out what caused the blaze. They continue to take precautions because they're unsure of the stability of the structure.
It is not clear if the warehouse was in use at the time. There was a "for sale" sign on the outside of the building. No one was hurt in the fire.
