Flags flew at half-staff at a Roxbury Township building Friday for a young hometown hero and Marine who died in Iraq.
The military says Private First Class Donald Brown, 19, died Wednesday from wounds suffered in combat. Cosmo Lorusso was Brown?s English teacher and football coach. Lorusso says the recent high school grad always knew he wanted to serve his country. Lorusso says he honors Brown by telling current students to live by the example the fallen Marine has set.
Brown, who was the youngest of four children, followed in his brother?s footsteps and joined the military. Brown leaves behind a fiancé. He is the sixth Marine in his battalion to die in the war.
