Ex-con tries to scare Paterson teens straight
A longtime drug user and ex-con discussed his mistakes with Rosa Parks High School students Tuesday.
Performer George McLean's one-man show combined skits, poetry and pantomime to show the dangers of substance abuse. McLean pointed to his harrowed past in an effort to scare the students straight.
"They can choose life or death," he says. "I show the ugly side of addiction."
The performance was part of a weeklong anti-drug program at the school.
