New Jersey officials joined with the U.S. secretary of energy to discuss the clean energy initiatives in President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better Plan.
The event took place at Nokia Bell Labs in Holmdel. The facility is getting $2 million to reduce its energy use and to develop near clean energy technology.
The funds are part of a larger commitment to keeping supply chain jobs in the United States.
"If we're going to be a strong nation, if we're going to be a nation that really builds our own supply chains, bringing that technology home is critical,” Secretary Jennifer Granholm said.
New Jersey is also partnering with the Department of Energy on offshore wind projects to create tens of thousands of jobs.
