There was a buzz of police activity at Newark Liberty International Airport earlier Saturday morning due to an emergency drill.
The emergency drill took place at the U.S. Customs baggage claim and lasted until 11 a.m.
The drill did not affect any flights in or out of the airport.
The area near the baggage claim was closed off with a sign alerting people of the drill. The airport also warned people to stay calm if they hear loud noises coming from the area.
During the drill, the airport ran through its emergency plan with mutual aid. Several agencies including federal, state and local all worked together to ensure they are prepared in the event of an emergency.
Passengers may notice more police in and around Terminal B throughout the day Saturday, but it is just a drill.
