Hundreds of students from Elizabeth gathered at Williams Field on Tuesday in an attempt to set two Guinness World Records.
Students dressed in black and white squeezed together to form the world’s largest human soccer ball. Officials from Guinness World Records were on hand to watch the attempt.
The FIFA World Cup host committee was also at the event.
"Soccer is something that really brings the world together and it's a community-building sport,” says Brianna Keys, of FIFA World Cup NY/NJ. “So, it's amazing to see students come together and rally to celebrate something like this."
The students also tried for a second record – the largest submarine formation.
News 12 will update on how they did.
