An entire community is in shock following the sudden death of an Edison High School star athlete during track practice.
Kittim Sherrod, 17, collapsed and died Thursday while running around town with the track team. Sherrod, who was 6'1", 170 pounds and also played football, was otherwise healthy.
Grief counselors were made available Friday for Edison students coping with the tragedy.
Officials are awaiting the teenager's autopsy results to name a cause of death. Next week would've been his 18th birthday.
