Around 220 teachers and staff are back at work at four schools in Franklin Lakes after a contract agreement was apparently reached overnight.
Franklin Lakes Education Association members sent out a picture and update, stating, “After two years working under an expired contract, we signed a Memorandum of Agreement at 2 a.m. this morning.”
The teachers began walking the picket line Monday, announcing two years without a new contract was long enough.
They said they also wanted to pay less for health insurance.
School officials canceled the school day so not to affect students.
The school board filed an emergency application with a judge Monday, who ordered the teachers back to work today -- but apparently that won't matter.
