Six men have been taken into custody after a Passaic County drug bust discovered cocaine, money and weapons.
Investigators and Drug Enforcement Agency officials swept through homes in Passaic, Paterson and Teaneck Thursday as part of the bust. Authorities seized three and a half kilos of cocaine, three firearms and at least $30,000 in cash. One of the guns allegedly was loaded with hollow-point bullets.
Officials suspect Michael Swanson, 30, to be the leader of the operation. At least two others arrested, David Lugo and Melvin Santana, are known gang members.
Police believe the men were using ?stash houses? to give their drug operation a sense of anonymity. Neighbors say they hadn?t noticed any police activity.
